Description of art: “Pastoral I–“After Rain”–the signatory work from Leigh Trifari’s rural landscape series “Pastorals”, a collection of pieces rendered in acrylic, sand and gesso on either wood panel or hardboard (in this case, wood panel). The painted surface is layered over a randomly applied ground of sand mixed with acrylic gesso to give a gritty and hazy atmospheric perspective. *Note’: This piece has hardware and a special mounting system already in place so that it hangs perfectly parallel to a wall (like a tile) and is unframed. The paint colours include a novel new medium called “Interference Colours” where the base colour (pink) reflects its complement (green) in the clouds, adding a pleasing effect.
